The season ahead
Sunday matches begin in mid-August and build toward the Columbus Day Tournament Finals. Kick-offs fall between 2:00 and 5:00 PM, and fields rotate across the city week to week.
The published schedule is still proposed. Match times and locations may be updated before the season starts, and any change is posted here and on Instagram first.

The Stamford Italian Soccer League returns for its 31st season. Sunday matches begin in mid-August and build toward the Columbus Day Tournament Finals. Players of all backgrounds are welcome to register.
Our Clubs
Six clubs. Six hometowns.
Every club in the league is named for the province or town its Stamford families came from. More than soccer teams, they carry the traditions of the social clubs that have served those communities for generations.
Vibo Valentia · Calabria
USVU.S. Vibo
Representing families with roots in the province of Vibo Valentia on Calabria's Tyrrhenian coast, the region many of Stamford's Italian families call home, including the Papallo and Altamura families of Ariola.
Minturno · Lazio
MSCMinturnese S.C.
Carrying the colors of Minturno, the seaside town in southern Lazio, and backed by the Minturnese Social Club, which has served generations of Stamford's Minturnese families.
Catanzaro · Calabria
CSCCatanzaro S.C.
Named for Calabria's capital city, honoring the Catanzarese families who brought their traditions and hometown pride from the toe of the boot to Stamford.
Bari · Puglia
ASBA.S. Bari
Representing Bari, Puglia's Adriatic capital, and the proud regional identity carried by generations of Stamford families with roots in the surrounding province.
Settefrati · Lazio
SSCSettefratese S.C.
Playing for Settefrati, the mountain village in the province of Frosinone, and sponsored by the Settefratese Social Club, one of Stamford's oldest Italian hometown societies.
Gravina in Puglia · Bari
Gravina S.C.
Representing Gravina in Puglia and Stamford's Gravinese community, Gravina S.C. returns to the league with the support and tradition of the Gravinese Society.

A Stamford tradition, thirty-one seasons deep
The league was founded in 1994, inspired by the excitement of the World Cup arriving in the United States that summer. What began as informal Sunday pickup matches between Italian-American fathers, sons, relatives and friends grew into something more deliberate: a league that would preserve Italian heritage while bringing the community together through the game.
Local Italian-American social clubs answered the call and formed teams representing the provinces and hometowns Stamford's immigrant families came from. More than three decades later, it is one of the city's longest-running amateur sports traditions.
Every kickoff celebrates the sacrifices of the immigrant families who built our community. Every club represents a hometown. Every jersey carries a story.
The Columbus Day Tournament
Every fall, the season builds to one weekend
More than thirty years of the league's signature tradition. In 2025 the league marked three decades with the 30th Anniversary Finals Celebration at Westhill High School: a free community event benefiting the Stamford Italian Soccer League Annual Scholarship Fund.
Catanzaro were crowned champions of the 2025 Columbus Day Tournament.
Community
The league, and the Fund behind its charitable work
The Stamford Italian Soccer League is its own league, run by its own board and volunteers. It partners with Integrità | The Papallo Family Fund on scholarships, community events, charitable initiatives and support for local families.
The Fund is a registered 501(c)(3) organisation and a separate entity from the league. Donations, sponsorship payments and scholarship contributions are processed by the Fund, not by SISL.
